Lotus Cars Malaysia today introduced the Eletre, a new variant that is below the Eletre S and Eletre R, that will price the all-electric hyper sports utility vehicle (SUV) from an attractive entry price of RM598,800 with the first deliveries scheduled to begin in October.

The Eletre retains all the attributes that have successfully propelled the Eletre S and Eletre R variants into becoming a highly sought-after all-electric hyper SUV worldwide, but it foregoes all the bells and whistles of the fully specced Eletre S and Eletre R that are currently priced from RM698,000 and RM838,000 respectively.

Like the Eletre S and Eletre R variants, owners of the Eletre are also able to customize the level of trim and equipment in their vehicle although not the full array of options is available to them.

The introduction of the new Eletre variant broadens the prospect of ownership to buyers who are entertaining the transition to an all-electric hyper SUV at a more decisive price point. At the same time, it still gives prospective owners the flexibility to customize and spec-up their vehicles should they desire to do so.

The Eletre also projects its own distinct individual personality, just as the Eletre S and Eletre R appeals to a very discerning segment of buyers with the Eletre S underlining ultra luxury while the Eletre R ultra performance.

The Eletre, like the Eletre S, will come powered by a single-speed system capable of delivering 603 hp and 710 Nm of torque with 0-100 km/h performance of 4.5 seconds. It is also capable of achieving top speeds of 258 km/h and a maximum WLTP driving range of 600 km. Only the top of the line Eletre R variant is equipped with a dual-speed system that offers an impressive output of 905 hp and 985 Nm of torque capable of 0-100 km/h in just 2.95 seconds with a top speed of 265 km/h, making it currently the world’s fastest dual-motor pure electric SUV. The Eletre R has a maximum WLTP driving range of 490 km.

The Eletre is also equipped with a 112 kWh battery and a 350 kW charger that enables rapid charging time of 10% – 80% in just 20 minutes.

While it retains all the driving dynamics and performance attributes of the Eletre S and Eletre R, the Eletre’s distinct character offers a difference in the level of trim and equipment available compared to the two higher-tier variants. The noticeable differences on the exterior are that it rides on 20-inch 5-spoke aero alloy wheels and is fitted with four-piston brake calipers. Customers however, have the option of upgrading this to the 22-inch Grey Diamond Turned wheels and six-piston calipers for an extra RM30,000.  Other upgrades available for customers under an Optimization Pack include side cameras and an active rear spoiler to further maximize the range of the Eletre.

All variants of the Eletre are equipped with a comprehensive suite of intelligent Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and top flight in-car entertainment. This includes Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), a driver monitoring system, Rear Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA), Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning / Prevention (LKA+), Blind Spot Detection, Traffic Sign Information (TSI), Front and Rear Park Assist, Visual Park Assist and Lotus Intelligent Dynamic Chassis Control. It is also available with five drive modes Range, Tour, Sport, Off-Road and Individual, while the R has the addition of a Track mode.

Also standard in the Eletre is a 1,380-watt, 15-speaker KEF Premium set-up up with Uni-Q™ and surround sound technology that delivers a more coherent and hyper-realistic sound experience.

Two new colours are being introduced for the Eletre which is Akoya White and Cinnabar Red. Standard exterior colours available include Kaimu Grey, Solar Yellow, Natron Red, Galloway Green, Stellar Black and Blossom Grey.

Prices for the Eletre are on-the-road, without insurance and road tax, valid only for Peninsular Malaysia. All variants of the Eletre come with a five-year / 150,000km manufacturer’s warranty, while the battery comes with an eight-year / 200,000km warranty.
