They are back, and this time back as a technical partner with Haas F1 Team which began immediately from its announcement. Toyota as a manufacturer spent eight seasons in Formula 1 which started back in 2009. They weren’t just a team but also was the engine supplier for the series during the period.

The new official role that was announced stated that the Japanese firm had signed a multi-year agreement with Haas F1 Team through their R&D division Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) to share expertise and knowledge along with some resources.

The new deal for Haas F1 Team will run concurrently along with their agreement with Ferrari. The Japanese firm will be providing design, technical and manufacturing services to Haas while the team will be returning their technical expertise and commercial benefits in return. The aim of this technical partnership will to the improve the development and competitiveness of the team in the sport apart from Toyota earning as much knowledge and skills through Formula 1.

This deal was announced at Toyota-owned Fuji International Speedway on Friday and will see Toyota Gazoo Racing branding visible on Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen’s Haas cars starting from coming weekend’s United States Grand Prix in Austin. Haas team currently seventh in the constructor’s championship, just three points adrift of RB in the fight for P6.
