Proton captivated visitors during the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024 from 5 – 11 December 2024 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) with an exciting showcase of its newest vehicles, including the Proton e.MAS 7, the first EV from a Malaysian automotive brand. Visitors to the stand were able to view the Proton S70 R3 race car, the Proton X50 Sport Edition (SE) concept as well as current Proton models; 2024 Proton X50, 2025 Proton X70, Proton X90, Proton S70 and Proton Saga.
A Step Toward the Future of Mobility
Just as how the previous edition of KLIMS in 2018 markets the show debut of the Proton X70, the company’s first SUV, the 2024 show marks the final preview of the Proton e.MAS 7, the company’s first EV and marking the brand’s next step in its journey to become a world-class automotive brand. Jointly developed with Geely, the e.MAS 7 is a C-segment SUV available in two trim levels, Prime and Premium, with class leading interior space and a full suite of advanced safety and convenience features including ADAS level 2.
While Proton’s new EV signals its future plans, excitement levels will be ramped by showcasing two performance- oriented versions of current models. The first of these will be the Proton S70 R3, which made its race debut on 23 November 2024 at Sepang and will be presented exactly as how it finished the grueling Sepang 1000km race. Visitors can look forward to meeting the R3 drivers during the upcoming weekend as they answer questions and pose for pictures with fans and the car.

The other performance model will be the Proton X50 SE concept. A design study to showcase the sportiness of PROTON’s best-selling SUV model, its appearance at KLIMS 2024 is to determine public response that may pave the way to future models that follow a similar styling direction.
“KLIMS 2024 is the perfect stage to showcase our latest advancements, from the unveiling of PROTON’s first EV that will be launched by the Prime Minister to letting visitors experience the thrill of our R3 race car to displaying the latest sporty concept based in the 2024 Proton X50, there is something for every car fan to look forward to. At the same time, the company will share our vision for sustainable mobility in the future as we explore concepts and
directions that will once again set the tone for the country’s automotive industry,” said Roslan Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, PROTON.

In addition to the vehicles on display, visitors can also meet their favourite celebrities, enjoy surprise engagement gifts and look forward to interesting digital interactive activities especially the 3D LED show
and exclusive promotions available at the event only, where they can receive a service voucher worth RM500 and enjoy extra rebates of up to RM2,000 on selected models! This is in addition to the ongoing Year-End PROTON Vaganza promotion, which is now in its final month with rebates of up to RM7,000 on selected models, including the 2024 PROTON X50 and 2025 PROTON X70. Additionally, some models can be purchased with added value for money packages such as free servicing for two years, offering long-term savings and peace of mind.
