In another premium segment industry-first, Volvo Car Malaysia will be extending its complimentary Volvo Car Connect Plus data service by an additional year for eligible owners whose subscriptions are ending soon.

Previously known as Digital Services, Volvo Car Connect Plus is the data connectivity package offered alongside the latest generation of Google built-in Volvo cars, enabling tether-free media streaming, over-the-air updates, and seamless integration with Google’s software services such as Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play Store.

Volvo Car Connect Plus is also a compelling owner benefit, offering up to five years’ complimentary data connectivity bundled with new Volvo car purchases.

When the first generation of Google built-in Volvo cars were offered in Malaysia, customers were entitled to four years of complimentary data connectivity. This offer has since been increased to five years from the introduction of 2024 model year cars.

To reward this first wave of customers, Volvo Car Malaysia will now extend complimentary Volvo Car Connect Plus services by another year to bring the offer in line with the latest models. This extension will happen automatically and does not require a software update or SIM card replacement.

Owners of model year 2022 and 2023 cars built on the marque’s Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) and first-generation Scalable Product Architecture (SPA1) platforms will be entitled to free data subscription for an additional year when their current package expires, with the applicable models below:

Volvo Car Connect Plus is particularly important for Volvo’s next generation of new, fully electric models that are definitively software driven. With AI-powered core computing technology that debuted in the EX90 and featured in the upcoming ES90 and EX60, Connect Plus allows more data to be processed and analysed over the air, improving machine learning for next-level autonomous driving and real-world road safety scenarios.

Another key benefit for owners is that Volvo Car Connect Plus subscriptions are connected to the vehicle, not the owner. If the car changes hands, any remaining validity period and data quota of the subscription will be transferred to the new owner of the car, benefitting resale value.
